Vaishno Devi temple

The Vaishno Devi temple is actually a cave shrine and is regarded as one of the holiest place for the Hindus. The temple is dedicated to the Hindu Goddess Durga or Shakti. One reaches this temple after walking for almost 14 kms on a steep and a hilly trek. One can reach this place from Katra which is located at a distance of 50 kms from here. One can very often hear people chanting and singing loudly Jai Mata di on their way to the cave temple of Vaishno Devi.

Pay your respects to Maa Vaishno Devi, a reincarnation of Goddess Shakti, and soak yourself in all its legend and culture. It is believed that Goddess Vaishno Devi fulfills all the wishes of human life related to kama, artha, dharma and moksha. One can see three Pindis at the temple which represent the three Goddesses, which are Maha Lakshmi, Maha Saraswati, and Maha Kali. Picturesque surroundings and the verdant, green surroundings keep company to tourists.
