Ranikhet

Ranikhet is one of the most beautiful high ground position located in the Almora District of Uttarakhand. Ranikhet is very rich in the flora and fauna. In flora one can get to glimpse the thick and dense forest of pine, oak and deodar.Fauna of Ranikhet mostly encompasses Red-faced monkey, Barking Deer, Indian Hare, Leopard, Red Fox, Jackal, Langur, Sambar, Mountain Goat etc. Ranikhet word is drawn from from two words Rani and Khet. Rani means ruler and Khet means Meadows, therefore Ranikhet means Queen’s Meadows. The weather of Ranikhet is also very pleasant. Most of the time the warmth is cool and moderate. In the month of December and January people can outlook snowfall in Ranikhet.

Some of the well known places to visit in Ranikhet are armed detachment repository, Jhula Devi Temple, Chaubatia flower bed, Rama Temple. enclosed by the attractive mountains and broad plantation, Ranikhet is a beautiful location to visit.
